2 Surprising Things That May Be Causing Your Acne

Posted by on Nov 11, 2014 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

If you are prone to acne breakouts, you may be trying all kinds of creams and gels to get rid of pimples. However, you may not realize that there are things you may be doing that are making your skin break out. Here are two surprising things you might be doing to cause acne. Drinking Fruit Juice You probably already know that fatty, sugary foods are not good for your skin. But if you’re still drinking fruit juice, you might still be causing your skin to break out. Most fruit juices you buy in your supermarket are filled with artificial sugar. In fact, some fruit juices have as much sugar as soft drinks do. The sugar in fruit juice causes a spike in your body’s production of insulin, and when that happens, your sweat glands are more likely to bump up production as well. That can lead to clogging of your pores and acne. If you love fruit juice, you don’t have to give it up forever. Instead, you may choose to have one cup of juice each day rather than multiple cups. You might also consider juicing fruits yourself with the help of a juicer. That way, you can avoid added sugars. Getting Stressed Out If you’re like many people, you might not realize that the stress you’re dealing with in your life might be a reason you’re struggling with acne right now. Stress isn’t commonly thought to present itself physically, but the truth is that some physical problems can be attributed to stress, including acne. When you are living in stressful situations, you are likely to produce more cortisol, which is referred to as “the stress hormone”. As you produce more cortisol, your body launches an inflammatory response, and that can lead to clogged pores and problems with your skin. Not only that, but when you are stressed out, your body also manufactures more androgens, which are hormones. Elevated androgens in your system can ultimately result in more acne. That’s why it is important to make an effort to deal with stress in a healthy way. For example, you may want to take up exercise, which has been shown to lower stress levels. Getting more sleep is critical if you have a lot of stress in your life. People who don’t sleep enough are more likely to deal with stress ineffectively, and that can lead to breakouts. You could also learn deep breathing and meditation exercises, which might also help you to get rid of stress. You will feel better, and your skin will look better. When you make the right adjustments to your behavior, you may very well see that acne breakouts are less common. Keep...

How To Boost Effects Of Adipex

Posted by on Nov 10, 2014 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

When your doctor prescribes Adipex (Phentermine) to you, you are more than likely looking to lose a significant amount of weight. Being prescribed with this medication shows you are on the right track to successful weight loss. You can’t rely on the medication alone, though. There are ways to boost the effects of it. Stay Active This may sound like common sense, but some people don’t realize that you can’t rely on medication alone. You have to put the effort in as well to lose weight. Even if you only can take short walks, that will help boost the fat burning process. Any type of physical activity you do, you are burning calories. Weight loss will happen when you burn more calories than you consume, usually. However, since the Adipex is a fat burner, you won’t have to exercise as hard as you would without it. Stick to something simple at first, and then work yourself up to more. Cut Down on Sugar Sugar turns into fat over time, so it’s not wise to consume large amounts. Even though Phentermine is a weight loss medication, it’s not wise to consume extra sugar. Each person’s body is different, and everyone may have a different amount of sugar they are allowed. Speaking with your doctor can give you a better idea on how many grams of sugar you are allowed each day. Be Aware Always follow the doctor’s instructions on how to take this medication. Not every medication you take is the same. This one may have different side effects than what you’re used to. There also may be side effects to look for, and you should know when to consult a doctor. Ask your physician when he or she should be contacted. Be sure to read over the pamphlet that will come with the medication. Make sure your doctor knows every medication you currently take before you start taking Adipex by Riverfront Diet Clinic DBA Doctors Diet Program. Never start anything new without consulting the doctor first. There are a lot of medications that shouldn’t be taken together, and to get the full effect of Adipex, you will want to be sure everything you’re taking is safe together. If you’re committed to losing the weight, you’re on the right track. You are already making the first big step by inquiring about Adipex. Just like any other medication, it’s important to follow up with your doctor. Discuss any new diet plan you wish to follow while on Phentermine. Staying active is also going to be a huge culprit when it comes to shedding those pounds faster. Everyone loses weight at different rates, so don’t push too hard. You know what your...

Native American Youth Need Culturally Targeted Drug Treatment

Posted by on Nov 10, 2014 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

It is hard enough to be a teenager in the 21st century as the pressures of peers and parents compete with academic and career-related decisions for one’s attention. Sadly, many teens turn to drugs and alcohol to cope with the pressures of adolescence. Nearly 40% of teens drank alcohol in the past 30 days, and 23.4%—nearly a quarter—of teens used marijuana. However, it is even more difficult these days for Native-American teenagers, as alcohol and substance abuse have been a perennial affliction for their communities. Therefore, it is critically important to establish substance abuse treatment centers for Native American youth, which is exactly what some cities are doing. If you are the parent of a teen who needs help, you need to know what is available. Particular struggles for Native American youth Native American youth consistently exhibit more frequent drug abuse than teens of other ethnicities. A 2011 study of 72,000 adolescents found that 31.5% of Native Americans had substance abuse disorders, compared to 25% of mixed race teens, 23% of white teens, and 21% of Hispanic youth. Cultural issues profoundly influence this behavior: extreme poverty is a constant characteristic of Native American communities, creating psychosocial stress that results in depression, boredom, and hopelessness. Many teens feel they no longer have a vital, impactful cultural identity. Further, because they are often raised in alcoholic homes, they have both genetic and behavioral propensities towards using substances to deal with gloomy circumstances. Culturally targeted treatment Currently, only ten substance abuse treatment centers in the country are specifically dedicated to treating Native American youth. These youth need the usual ingredients of successful drug recovery such as detox, recovery education, relapse prevention, and individual/group counseling. However, they also need to understand their substance use as a part of the bigger picture of Native American culture. For instance, they need to understand the genetic predisposition of Native Americans to alcoholism and how it represents a particular treatment challenge. They also need encouragement to embrace, rather than be discouraged by, their cultural identity: one study suggests Native American youth who do so increase their ability to resist the allure of drugs and alcohol. Treatment centers that target Native American youth are located in Alaska, Arizona, South Dakota, Washington, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Nevada, and North Carolina. If you are a Native American parent seeking substance abuse treatment for your teenager, you can contact Indian Health Services for assistance. Even if you do not live near a specialized treatment center, this federal health program for American Indians and Alaska natives can direct you to resources that offer culturally relevant recovery services. Your teen does not have to become a statistic—but he or she will need a targeted...
